What are the Cord Awards? I coined the name Cord Awards for my winning submission to CrowdStrike's global business resiliency contest. The contest criteria were to develop a creative, scalable initiative for operational continuity at CrowdStrike. I was selected as 1 of 3 global winners at a company of 10,000 people. Here's my award-winning initiative:
Introducing, the 2024 CrowdStrike Cord Awards!
After tripping over my extension cord (I was okay), I decided to improve my remote workplace safety by removing all cords from my walkway. Don’t choose the nearest outlet if it’s in your path. Select the safest outlet, even if it’s farther away. Get two extension cords if you need to (or a longer one). 🔆
I propose the initiative of Cord Awards, where CrowdStrikers submit a sentence about how they’re maintaining a safe work-from-home space. Submissions enter a raffle, whereas 13 lucky winners across the globe are selected to receive a small prize of their choice (i.e. select from Swag store). 🎈
WFH safety is essential for business resiliency and continuation of mission critical work. An injury could slow down or even halt business operations. To keep moving fast, we have to move safely around our workspace. The Cord Awards is a scalable, worthwhile initiative for CrowdStrike! 🏎️
